For as long as I can remember there has always been an environment with a vibrant atmosphere immersed within the artistic world. My parents are both internationally renowned glass artists, graduating from the Edinburgh Art College still producing exquisite fine art works for exhibitions all over the world. Both with their own unique and individual style, my father remains one of only two artists in the world still practicing the ancient art of copper wheel engraving. Consequently, all of us as children were to be greatly influenced and have developed our own distinctive paths in the world of art.
Having formally studied commercial art and design at Perth Technical College and learning the trade of sign writing, today I have matured my trade into a signage, design and arts project business. Under the umbrella of my business, incorporated are commissioned works in stained glass ranging from ecclesiastical to contemporary works for residential and commercial buildings, as well as commissioned works in oil painting. I have been fortunate enough to have studied oil painting and colour theory under Gillian Peebles, who qualified from London's Royal Academy.
Although still successfully operating my signage and design business, my ambitions are to advance and amplify my passion for commissioned oil painting. Over the years of practicing and specialising in a broad range of skills, I have learned that one discipline feeds another. Keeping a range of tools and skills at my disposal in cross-media work is a passion in itself and something that keeps a stream of reinvention and new ideas possible.
